You are warmly invited to attend the 55th Annual Preconference of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
If you are attending an RBMS Preconference for the first time, or would like to learn more about RBMS, you are encouraged to attend the Conference Orientation and Introduction to RBMS, to be held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., just prior to the New Members’ Mixer celebrating new attendees. These events will be held at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino. All are welcome to get to know new members and enjoy each other’s company. Make sure to include this event in your registration! The ticket price includes select appetizers and wine/beer.
First-time attendees should visit the Scholarships and Buddy Program pages to learn about these opportunities that are designed to help you feel welcome and to make the most out of your preconference experience and relationship with RBMS.
Please note, that no RBMS business or committee meetings are held during the Preconference. These meetings take place at ALA Annual and Midwinter meetings. RBMS may also sponsor a program session on a topic of interest during the ALA Annual Conference to be held this year in Las Vegas, June 26-July 1, 2014.
